Most people are aware that Internet Broadband has been installed throughout the United Kingdom; however, people are less aware that alongside Internet Broadband, British Telecom has been installing its own private network based on MPLS technology, called IP Clear. This network does not use the public Internet for any of its connections between sites. As it is a private network, security is exceptional and no firewalls or security products are required, except for Internet and Email. This simplifies installation and management, whilst providing faster links (which have a service level agreement), along with little or no contention.
