Infrastructure Manager

Your duties will be primarily focused on the management of our Data Centre and the adoption and expansion of the latest technology, to enable new services and products to be deployed to our clients in multi-tenanted environments. You will also be responsible for our internal IT and associated services, ensuring we continue to adopt new technology as a leading provider in our region.

Although a management role, you will be expected to be able to work with a small team, project planning, deploying, maintaining and using the systems, therefore you will need both management and advanced technical skills.

Core Infrastructure

  • Uninterruptable Power Supplies (service contract in place)

Computing Clusters

  • Microsoft Windows 2012 & 2016 highly available computing clusters

  • Storage area networks
  • Microsoft Azure integration
  • Hosted telephony

Company IT

  • Desktop services
  • Server services
  • Application support

We would expect the candidate to be able to provide financial forecasts for all Data Centre and company IT requirements.

The role requires resource planning skills, linked to projected sales, so that we ensure our Data Centre services keep pace with the company expansion and stays relevant in the market place.

You must be able to review technological trends, while working with both the Solutions and Installations teams to design new services and products.

A flexible, can-do attitude is key and a determination to succeed will be second nature to the right candidate.

Team work is of key importance and the sharing of knowledge with co-workers is essential. The right candidate must be calm under pressure and must take a pragmatic approach to the demands of deadlines, client expectations and commercial considerations.

The candidate requires at least 10 years of experience.

There is a duty rota in place and you should also expect to work outside of normal operational hours.

Qualifications & Grades:

  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert or one or more of the following MCTSs:
    • Microsoft Server 2012 or 2016
    • Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 or 2016
    • Microsoft SQL Server 2014 or 2016
    • Microsoft System Center 2012 or 2016
  • Degree qualified in computing sciences or equivalent
  • GCSE English grade C or above
  • GCSE Maths grade C or above

Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary range £45k - £55k dependent on skill set and experience
  • 4 weeks’ holiday in years 1-3, increasing to 5 weeks’ holiday after 3 years of service
  • 3% company contributory pension
  • Company death in service cover
  • Company health care after 1 year of service
