As we continue to grow we are always looking to employ the most talented and enthusiastic team members. Computer Service Centre are therefore pleased to announce our two latest additions to the company – Tom Blake and Andy Roberts. Both have joined the support department and are responsible for ensuring that our customers continue to receive the highest levels of service possible.

Bringing with them a mix of skills and experience having worked within the IT industry for a number of years, Tom and Andy have already made a big impact on the department and have helped to ensure that cases are closed and issues resolved as quickly and completely as possible.

A warm welcome to Viktor Peacock

We here at Computer Service Centre are pleased to introduce to you our latest member of staff, Viktor Peacock. Viktor has joined as a software developer in our software department and will be responsible for delivering bespoke software applications and feature-rich websites to our customers new and old.

Originally from the Ukraine, Viktor moved to England as a teenager and has settled in Norfolk since commencing his BSc Computer Science degree at the UEA. Viktor brings with him a wealth of expertise in both the financial sector and the data capture and recognition fields and has hit the ground running creating an interactive video newsletter system for one of our clients in his first week.

The addition of Viktor to the team allows us to offer a wider and more all-encompassing skillset and this, in turns, enables us to offer more software development services to our potential customers as we grow.

So, please join us in welcoming Viktor as he starts his career at Computer Service Centre!

With the winter definitely upon us and the snow looking like overstaying its welcome many of us will be considering working from home in an attempt to avoid that risky or time consuming commute. Take IT On Funding

Computer Service Centre has secured nearly £4000 of funding for Create Consulting Engineers from the Take IT On funding programme which was started by EEDA (East of England Development Agency) in November 2007. This will enable their IT to be expanded as they open a new office in the city of London as well as recruiting more staff locally.

Through the takeITon programme, businesses can access free practical support to help them with their business IT. As well as a series of workshops, and ‘How-To’ videos, businesses can receive a free consultation with a Business Link Advisor who will give their business an ‘IT Healthcheck’.

Unfortunately, Create Consulting Engineers will be one of the last businesses to benefit from this current round of funding which was quickly used up throughout the Eastern Region. We will of course be watching closely and hoping that the funding returns in the future, as it has been invaluable for many small businesses within the region.

Ultimate Upgrades

Technology does not stand still and we strongly believe that we have to continuously upgrade and update our own systems throughout our business, so that we are able to provide the most robust and cost effective solutions to our clients. This also includes our Data Centre which has undergone its own transformations recently. To begin with, we have now installed a more advance fire detection and suppression system. Should a fire start within the Data Centre, it would quickly be detected and extinguished automatically.
In addition and with all of the concerns of power cuts as the national grid is close to capacity during the winter months, we have now installed our own SDMO diesel generator. Not only does it provide backup power to the Data Centre, but also our entire facility. The generator generates a total of 110Kw of power and has been designed to run continuously. Like an insurance policy, we would hope that it would never be used, however we do not underestimate the importance of the services we deliver and this investment provides our clients with additional protection should such events occur.

Administration Department Manager

Having attended Sir John Leman High School in Beccles and after a brief spell working for the family firm, Michael began working at Computer Service Centre in 2001 as a Sales Administration Assistant. In 2004 Michael was promoted to Administration Co-ordinator with his main responsibilities including stock control, credit control, invoicing, Microsoft Licensing and maintaining our Microsoft Partner Program. Michael is a St John First Aider and currently Administration Department Manager.
