Wide Area Networks

Since 2000, we have been providing Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) based on ADSL or Broadband connections which have provided our customers with many great connectivity features without the cost of dedicated leased lines or private circuits.

Our commitment to offering solutions that utilise the best and latest technology and providing solutions that are beneficial to our customers has led us to offer an alternative to standard ADSL lines and enhance our offering further. We now provide two distinct products depending on our customer’s requirements – Virtual Private Networks (VPN) and Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS).

Virtual Private Networks (VPNs)

The common way to provide secure Virtual Private Networks across multiple sites over the Internet is by using standard ADSL lines alongside various hardware products, which are configured and managed by our engineers. The links are based on IPSEC Tunnels which are created through Firewalls and provide a cost effective solution for linking multiple sites. Whilst the network is secure, service levels are not guaranteed as they are reliant on the conditions of the Internet.

Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS)

Alongside the installation of ADSL, BT has also installed its own private network based on MPLS technology. This network does not use the public Internet for any of its connections and consequently is a private network offering exceptional security and removing the need for firewalls or security products, except for public services such as Internet and email.

Our MPLS network provides site-to-site connectivity without using the Internet as the main backbone and reduces the management overhead, whilst considerably increasing the performance of your hardware, as it bypasses the transient conditions of the Internet. Some of the main benefits of our MPLS network are:

• Guaranteed network performance and speed with minimal noise and jitter
• Lower contention ratios compared with standard ADSL
• No Firewalls or security devices are required
• Routers are installed and managed by Computer Service Centre
• Our MPLS network is supported directly by our in-house team
• Monitored 24/7 by Computer Service Centre and BT
• BT 4 + 24 hour respond and fix on MPLS links
• Improved connectivity between other services such as hosted servers or websites within our Data Centre
